The Environment Society of India, Chandigarh, has been playing a pivotal role in promoting environmental sustainability through its consistent and impactful awareness initiatives since its inception in 1976. By organizing key events such as World Wetland Day, Earth Day, and World Environment Day, the Society has significantly contributed to spreading environmental consciousness among citizens. The Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, takes great pride in extending both technical and financial support to such initiatives, which are crucial for the conservation of nature, ecological balance, and long-term sustainability of our environment.

In recognition of the outstanding commitment and dedication of the Environment Society of India, Chandigarh, the National Council for Science and Technology, Government of India, has entrusted the Society with the prestigious role of serving as one of the 40 State-Level Coordinators across the country for the National Children’s Science Congress—a responsibility it has upheld with excellence for over three decades.

We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the Society to ensure the smooth and impactful execution of this significant educational initiative in the Union Territory. The Department of School Education, Chandigarh Administration, extends its wholehearted support to the Society in mobilizing teachers and students from Chandigarh schools to foster scientific excellence, promote environmental sustainability, and instill a deep commitment to conservation among young minds.

The Environment Society of India (ESI) has consistently played a vital role in enhancing the cultural and environmental spirit of Chandigarh by organizing the Kite Flying Event during the Rose Festival at Rose Garden, Sector 16. Over the years, this event has drawn an enthusiastic response from citizens and has become one of the most anticipated and cherished attractions of the festival.

We take great pleasure in supporting the Society in ensuring a safe, vibrant, and environmentally responsible celebration that not only entertains but also fosters a meaningful connection between people and nature.

The contribution of the Environment Society of India, Chandigarh, to environmental awareness and action-oriented programs is truly commendable. The Adhivakta Parishad of Councillors was honored to collaborate with the Society on Earth Day, during which a highly impactful seminar on the theme “A Planet Without Plastic” was organized.

Our advocates took this opportunity to enlighten the audience about their legal rights to a clean and healthy environment under existing environmental legislation. The event successfully combined legal awareness with environmental advocacy, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.

The program concluded e distribution of awards by Dr. R.C. Mishra, IPS, President ESI. The whole, the program was inspiring, well conducted and a huge success”.
